Pertiwi means Mother Earth in Indonesian and comes from the Hindu Goddess Prthvi and Javanese sanskrit word prthiwi which means Earth.

These pieces took shape after sifting through many hands here in Bali from hand spun cotton that was hand dyed with locally harvested plant extracts and then hand loomed. The leaves, fibers and colors were carefully composed through seamless rhythmic gestures intrinsic to daily ceremonial culture here and feels like a song echoing from the depths of the island.

These pieces were made to be loved as an oversized winter weight scarf or as a table runner.
